Play-based Curriculum For Children
18 Months to 3 Years
Freetown Friends is a preschool that offers an educational environment for children ages 18 months to 3 years.
Our classroom has learning tools including age-appropriate games, books, art supplies and other fun toys so children can learn in the most engaging way possible.
We also have an outdoor play area containing ride-on toys, swings, sandbox, and a lot of nature to explore!
Freetown Friends provides a safe place for your child to grow socially and academically, while still having lots of opportunities outside of school hours to continue to explore their creativity.
Daily Activities
We begin every day with a supervised small manipulative activity that's great for fine motor skills such as puzzles, play dough, lacing, or Magna Tiles.
We then transition to Circle time, which is a wonderful way for kids to learn and participate in large group activities.
At Circle Time, we start with a Welcome song, involve the children in other songs, finger plays, books, and close with calendar and weather time.
A healthy snack is then offered every day, which helps the children recharge growing bodies.
We jump into various art projects using a wide variety of materials that foster a child’s creativity and enhance small motor and sensory skills.
A sample morning schedule may include the following:
8:45 - 9:30⇢ Table activity and supervised free play
9:30 - 10:00⇢ Circle time
10:00 - 10:45⇢ Snack time and art project
10:45 - 11:45⇢ Music and movement, outdoor play when possible
